So I am on my way home from the lovely Golden CO after a really wonderful and eye-opening event hosted by Alyson Stanfield. The idea was to come together for 3 days and gain some clarity and focus about our creative businesses and goals while getting to network with a group of like-minded artisans and makers.
Let me just say–the event was a huge success in my mind. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking over the past week and have come to some conclusions:
1. I am passionate about making beautiful, wearable, functional pieces that celebrate color, texture and process.
2. My work doesn’t have to define who I am as a person–it is a part of me but it is not the only thing that I am. (tweet this)
3. You can’t have the art business without the art so just get out of your own way and make the damn art.
I’m looking forward to getting back to my studio and taking the time to put myself first and get some of the nagging things that I have been talking about doing forever done and off my list.
Stay tuned for more updates!
